We use fans when the temperature rises during summer. It keeps us cool by circulating the air. Comparatively, when the weather is a little less hot, we lower the fan speed. Again, many times, we reduce the fan speed to reduce the electricity bill. Now the question is, does reducing fan speed save electricity bills?

Whether reducing the fan speed will result in lower electricity bills depends on the type of regulator you are using. In earlier days mainly electrical regulator was used where you could control the fan speed by selecting any number from 1 to 7. In fact, such regulators could only control the fan speed by controlling the voltage, due to which the speed was lower, but the power consumption was the same. This means, electricity is not saved through this type of regulator.

But with the advancement of technology over time, new types of regulators have been discovered. That is the electronics regulator. This type of regulator is more commonly use in Bangladesh. Reducing the fan speed using these types of regulators reduces power consumption and lowers electricity bills. These types of regulators are smaller in size than electrical regulators.

So avoid running the fan unnecessarily or reduce the fan speed if possible. This will save the electricity bill to some extent.
