To be honest, if you have small children, the door to your home can often be a source of danger. Children may injure their fingers if the door suddenly closes while they are playing, It can even happen that the door latch gets stuck from the inside. Therefore, a durable, properly sized, and easy-to-use door stopper or door guard is an essential item for your child’s safety.
We tested two types of door stoppers available on the market and saw how effective they were in real-world use. We tested performance, durability, build quality, and how well it sticks to the door.
The relatively inexpensive Door Stopper A (priced at 55 taka) looked nice but didn’t perform well in our tests, while the relatively expensive Door Stopper B (priced at 99 taka) performed well in our long-term tests as it is made of a hard plastic material.
If your first priority is child safety and durability, we highly recommend Door Stopper B.
How we chose
Lightweight and compact
Door stoppers are usually permanently attached to the door, so they are easy to use if they are lightweight. At the same time, if they are compact and not too large, they do not interfere with the movement of the door or the beauty of the room.
Sustainable
We tested the door opening and closing 50 times. Some stoppers bend, tear, or fall off, and some survive real use.
Fasten it tightly to the door.
A good door stopper should be firmly attached to the door so that it does not move or fall off even when the door is opened and closed frequently.
☑ Does it ensure security?
The main purpose is to prevent children’s fingers or hands from getting trapped in the door. For this reason, we measured the gap with a caliper to see if it was large enough to prevent accidents.
The most reliable baby safety door stopper
Door Stopper B performed best in our tests. Made of durable flexible plastic, it is long-lasting and sticks well to the door.
Tests have shown that it did not break or get scratched even after opening and closing the door 50 times. The caliper measures 22.6 mm gap, which is enough to keep a child’s finger safe. Sometimes, if the door is closed frequently, it may move a little, but if you reattach it, it will not be much of a problem.
If child safety and durability are important to you, we would definitely recommend Door Stopper B.
Why trust us?
To create this guide, we tried to understand the advice of experts who have been working with baby safety products for a long time in various article forums.
We also purchased and tested several door stoppers we found online. Not only did we see the products, we also put them to real-life use—like opening and closing the door 50 times, measuring the gap with a caliper, and testing the durability by repeatedly slamming the door.
We have showcased our entire testing process on our YouTube channel “SeraChoice”, where viewers can see our testing methods and results live. This will give you a clearer idea of how factual and unbiased our reviews are.
This review is written by our team member Hamidur Rahman, who, through regular video testing, showcases the product’s true performance to the audience.
We have no sponsorship from any brand. We have purchased and tested all products with our own money so that we can present you with a completely unbiased and real experience.
Who will use it?
It’s not necessary for all parents to buy separate door stoppers. Many people think that doors can usually be opened and closed carefully, so why do they need a separate safety device? But in reality, small children often close doors suddenly or block the door while playing—and that’s when accidents happen.
To protect a child's fingers or hands
If your child crawls or runs into the house, a door stopper is a must. It keeps the door open at all times, preventing injuries from getting fingers caught.
Those who live alone at home
Many times, children slam the door shut from the inside while playing. If there is a door stopper, the door will not close completely and the children will not be able to slam the door shut.
Daycare or children's playroom
Door stoppers are essential in daycare centers or any place where many children play together. This greatly reduces the risk of children injuring their fingers.
Alternative solutions
Of course, you can use a piece of cloth or rubber to temporarily block the door if you want. But they don’t last long, and they come off easily. In comparison, a specially designed door stopper is safer and more effective in the long run.
How we select?
We collected two types of baby safety door stoppers online—one made of foam, the other made of plastic. We tried adding a few more types or brands of door stoppers to our test but couldn’t find any other door stoppers.
In our experience, the biggest issue when buying baby safety door stoppers is whether they are durable and can actually protect your baby from injury when the door closes. That’s why we didn’t just rely on product descriptions and customer reviews, but tested them ourselves. We tested the door stoppers by opening and closing the door 50 times. You can visit our YouTube channel “SeraChoice” to see our testing process.
From our research and testing, we have concluded that an ideal baby safety door stopper should have the following features:—
- Lightweight and compact: A lightweight and small size design that can be easily installed and opened on the door is best.
- Easy to install: If the usage process is complicated, parents may be reluctant to use it regularly. Therefore, products that are easy to install are effective.
- User-friendly: The stopper should fit tightly on the door, and be easy for adults to remove, but not for children.
- Safe and durable: Even if the door is repeatedly slammed, the stopper will not break and the child’s fingers or hands will be protected.
- Affordable: While safety is important, it should be a product that is easily affordable and value-for-money.

Best Baby Safety Door Stopper: Door Stopper B
If you’re looking for an effective door stopper to protect children’s hands or fingers, we think the Door Stopper B is the best. It’s made of durable flexible plastic, sticks tightly to the door, and is easy to use.
The Door Stopper B is very easy to install on the door. We have shown on the YouTube channel “SeraChoice” how it remained perfectly intact in a 50-time door opening and closing test. The child’s fingers or hands are not injured when the door closes. In addition, it is small and light, making it easy to both install on the door and remove later.
Limitations but not serious
One limitation of Door Stopper B is that it can sometimes move a little if you push the door too hard and too often. However, it is easy to reattach, so this is not a big problem. In addition, this type of flexible plastic stopper on the market is durable in the long term, so once you start using it, it ensures long-term safety.
If your main goal is to protect your child’s fingers and ensure their long-term use, we definitely recommend Door Stopper B.
Door Stopper A is very nice to look at and is also inexpensive—only 55 taka. It is made of non-toxic foam and is lightweight, making it easy to attach to doors. It also has a picture of a cat’s face, which is attractive to children.
However, there are some limitations in terms of performance. In our tests, it was found that after opening and closing the door 50 times, it became bent and cracked in some places. If you press the door a little too hard, it will close completely, which is not safe for a child’s fingers.
